Preparation....


I admit it, I'm late..... :/

03-10-07>> Preparation with CC in Cologne

I was fairly nervous, but everyone has been so nice to me, that I soon felt better. I thought it was very interesting and even at this time I couldn't wait to arrive in the U.S.....

27.03.07>> I've send a part of the application to CC ( the certification of good conduct, the photos and two references still need to be added, I'm planning to do this until April 15th).
The Photos gonna be a problem I think, because I didn't think about making pictures at my first internship at a kindergarten. I also don't have a camera and because of that I never made pivture while babysitting.
However- I made some at my second internship and now have to wait until eastern (when I'm babysitting again).
In addition to that, my whole Family is at home (which is not often the case), so we can make familypictures.

I'm so anxious to get to know future Hostfamilies.....

04-04-07>> My certification of good conduct arrived- thank god, there is no entry! On one hand, one knows, that one didn't ever commit a crime, but on the other hand, you never know!
My 'silly' family refuses tomake a family picture- they hate it. On Easter-sunday, they HAVE to do it!:)


04-27-07>> Julia, from CC in Berlin called and said, that my application has been 'great'. Its on the way to the main office in Boston now. Everythings getting serious now- I'm very excited! Julia said, that my chances are very good, except to the allergies that I have.

04-28-07>> Today a letter arrived: I'm officialy admitted to the program.

05-04-07>> My Application was in Boston on Monday, and today, I have the first Hostfamily in my account. They have three boys, 6, 4 and 1 and one Baby arriving in August, also a boy. They live near Boston.
My decision is already certain!

05-11-07>> I matched with the Lehrfamily from Westborough, Massachusetts. Yeehaw! Now the whole Visa-things has to be set. Ph no!

05-30-07>> My Visaapllication is complete (it took me long enough to get everything), tomorrow, I'm 'travelling' to Frankfurt. On Friday, I have the appointment in the U.S.-embassy.
I'm very excited if theres still an tiny mistake in my application, so that my Visa might be denied!
I was shopping some gifts for my hostfamily, and emailed with my Hostmum. Not much time until departure!

06-01-07>> My Visa has been approved! After I waited for approx. one billion years, and I really was called as one of the last 5 persons in the room (of 300!!)....

06-15-07>> Still waiting for departure.....I met some other AU Pairs and Americans who live around Boston....nice. My fathers colleague wanted to give me her Adress and phone number, that I can visit her, when I'm in Detroit (She works at General motors in Detroit).I can't wait to leave....oh, of course I'm sad, but I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE. =)
